Nonprofit of the Year Awards
M&J was honored to be the presenting sponsor at the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s Nonprofit of the Year Awards luncheon. The annual awards aim to honor nonprofit organizations making a difference in the Tampa area. They are also focused on recognizing organizations that utilize sound financial practices.
Congratulations to all of the finalists, and especially to Meals on Wheels PLUS of Manatee for being named the overall winner and the health and human services category winner!

M&J Community Involvement
Partners and staff in our Chattanooga, TN office volunteered and participated in the “Accountable for Our Own” event on May 23, 2013. Several of the larger accounting firms in Chattanooga got together and supported an organization called Steps2Hope (non-profit) which is building a home for a serviceman injured in Afghanistan.

UCF Student Receives 2013 Mauldin & Jenkins Scholarship
Congratulations to Rolando Quintero, UCF School of Accounting student, on receiving the 2013 Mauldin & Jenkins Scholarship. Victoria Barnett (UCF Alumna, Staff Accountant Bradenton Office) represented M&J at the Spring Banquet and was on hand to present the scholarship to Rolando.

Elton and Janet Wolf Endowed Scholarship
Timothy Voss was was the recipient of the the Elton and Janet Wolf Endowed Scholarship in Accounting at Auburn University. Elton and Janet are graduates of Auburn and established this endowment out of their love for Auburn and as an inspiration to others to carry on the tradition of giving back and helping others. Elton is a retired managing partner of Mauldin & Jenkins.

SACUBO Annual Conference
M&J exhibited and attended the 85th Annual SACUBO (Southern Assoc of College and University Business Officers) meeting in Atlanta, GA. It was held April 21-23 at the Hyatt Regency. Jeff Fucito, Brian Carter and Aleisa Howell presented on Key Performance Measures – Financial Ratios, Benchmarking and Interpretation. Thanks to everyone who attended our class and came by the booth.
