ALBANY – Albany employees of Mauldin & Jenkins, a leading assurance, tax, and advisory firm, participated in the Georgia Accounting Food Fight, an annual fundraising competition amongst accounting firms across Georgia. The contribution will benefit a local food bank, Feeding the Valley, which serves those in need in the southwest region of Georgia.
With 100% employee participation, employees raised a total of $2,665 in donations for Feeding the Valley Food Bank. This donation will assist in providing essential resources to help in the fight against hunger in the Albany community.
James Langston, Albany’s Community Service Chair stated, “I think the Food Fight Fundraiser is a great annual event for our local community, as well as the state. The statistics shared with us showed one in eight Georgians struggle to provide food for themselves or their families, and one in five Georgia children are food insecure. These are very high and unacceptable percentages that we should all put more thought and effort into lowering.”
By participating in this event, Mauldin & Jenkins employees hope to raise awareness and contribute to reducing these unacceptable numbers, ensuring that more Georgians have access to the nourishment they need.
Since 1998, the Georgia Food Bank Association has rallied seven Member Food Banks and over 2,000 dedicated Partner Agencies in a united effort to nourish and support communities across Georgia.
