Tim Monahan resumed practicing public accounting in 1999 after eight years of working in industry. His professional responsibilities include development of audit programs for engagements and supervision of accountants and review of their performance on engagements. He assists clients with business and tax planning, and design and installation of record keeping systems. Tim has also had extensive experience in the mergers and acquisitions area, managing the due diligence process, structuring deals both from a tax and financial reporting perspective, pricing the transaction, and post-acquisition integration.
Prior to joining Derrick, Stubbs & Stith, LLP (now Mauldin & Jenkins), Tim served one year as Senior Audit Manager with BDO Seidman, LLP in Charlotte, North Carolina. This was preceded by an 8-year career at Policy Management Systems Corporation in Columbia, South Carolina, where he was Manager of International Finance and Manager of Worldwide Corporate Accounting. Prior to that, he was a Senior Tax Manager and Senior Audit Manager of the Big Four accounting, tax and consulting firm of EY, which he joined in 1978.
He received his B.S. Degree in Accounting from Gannon University in 1978 and obtained his CPA Certification in 1980.
Mr. Monahan is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the South Carolina Association of Certified Public Accountants.
