Continuing Operations Through COVID-19

Continuing Operations Through COVID-19

The world and our country are facing significant disruption with the arrival of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).  Our lives, jobs, and human interactions have all been affected.  The economy is in turmoil, people are in quarantine, children are at home, parents are faced with performing job duties while supervising and teaching children, social distancing has been implemented, numerous jobs and job functions are being performed remote, and employers and employees are forced to adapt in real time to fluid guidelines.  Even with all these barriers, governments must function and provide essential services to its citizens and stakeholders.

Government operations and service delivery is different today compared to a month ago.  We are in a period of “new normalcy” that forces governments to operate in an ever-changing unknown environment. Governments must be creative and innovative in these challenging times to determine how best to continue essential and necessary services while still ensuring proper controls and mitigating risks.

Mauldin & Jenkins’ Government Advisory Services Practice can help your government strategically and creatively plan for:

  • Maintaining essential and critical operations now and into the future
  • Adopting to new service delivery or job performance models
  • Transition back to a steady, less volatile operating environment

Our Practice has direct experience helping governments with proactive planning and reactive operations sustainability after disasters, emergencies, and other events causing unstable operating environments.  We have experience developing state Continuity of Operations Plans (COOP Plans) and assisted with the City of New Orleans’ Road Home Program after Hurricane Katrina. We can bring our insight and experience to help ensure your government is prepared for today and tomorrow.

Our Practice can help you think through and address the prevalent issues you are likely currently facing:

Nobody could have predicted the massive disruption caused by COVID-19, but significant events have occurred in the past causing governments to adapt to a new environment, and future events will likely occur.  We can, and we will get through this together.  If we can be of any service during these trying times, please let us know. We are happy to have a virtual meeting to discuss any needs.

I truly believe our Firm’s mantra that: “Together, we can: navigate, innovate, succeed, and do anything!”.
