METAIRIE – Fifteen interns from leading assurance, tax, and advisory firm Mauldin & Jenkins, formerly LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors, came together to assemble backpacks filled with school supplies for students across Louisiana.
The backpacks were donated to Volunteers of America Southeast Louisiana to help local children access essential classroom supplies throughout the academic year. Through this service project, the interns helped ensure students have the essential resources they need to feel prepared, engaged, and ready to learn.
“Our interns are not only investing in their own futures but also taking the time to invest in the future of students across Southeast Louisiana,” said Holly Rock, Mauldin & Jenkins Professional. “We’re proud to see them come together to serve others and make a positive difference in the communities we call home.”
The project builds on a long-standing tradition of community involvement established by LaPorte, which combined with Mauldin & Jenkins in 2025. Community service remains a core part of Mauldin & Jenkins’ culture, and the firm participates in numerous service initiatives throughout the year. Across its 19 locations, professionals are encouraged to support organizations and programs that make a positive impact in the communities where they live and work.
