Cherish serves as the Director of the LSU Law School Low-Income Tax Clinic, where she oversees the representation of individuals involved in controversies with the IRS and directs educational efforts for English as a second language taxpayers.
Additionally, she holds an Of Counsel position at the firm. Having joined LaPorte in 2018, which later merged with Mauldin & Jenkins in 2025, Cherish provides a range of tax services, including planning, advisory, and compliance, to various clients. Her work there focuses particularly on estate, gift, and succession planning, state and local taxes, and nonprofit organizations. Further demonstrating her expertise in the field, Cherish has also dedicated six years to teaching Income Tax I at the LSU Paul M. Hebert Law Center.
