Dawn Laborie, CPA, is a Mauldin & Jenkins partner. She began her professional career with LaPorte CPAs & Business Advisors in 2000 after she graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from the University of New Orleans. Dawn provides assurance and consulting services for entities primarily in the nonprofit, public sector, and financial services industries, and she has extensive training in these industries. Dawn’s client experience includes foundations, museums, charities, trade associations, state agencies, schools, school boards, and financial institutions. She has significant experience in the special reporting requirements under the Louisiana Audit Law and providing statewide agreed-upon procedures services required in Louisiana.
To enhance her nonprofit practice and commitment to the nonprofit community, Dawn received board member training and has completed the AICPA’s Not-for-Profit Certificate I and II programs. A strong proponent of volunteerism and giving back, she served on numerous nonprofit boards, volunteered on the national editorial board of Thomson Reuters’ Profitable Solutions for Nonprofits newsletter, and served as a peer reviewer for the Louisiana Association of Nonprofit Organizations (LANO) former Standards for Excellence Program, which certified nonprofit organizations that were deemed well-managed and responsibly governed.
Dawn resides in the Greater New Orleans area with her husband, Jeffrey, and their two children, Emma and Ayden.
