CHATTANOOGA — The Chattanooga office of Mauldin & Jenkins, LLC provided more than 300 cans and raised close to $400 that will support efforts to eradicate hunger in the Chattanooga community this December. The firm donated all of the canned goods and monetary donations collected during a food drive for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank, which serves over 20 counties in Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia.
Mauldin & Jenkins is a national CPA and business advisory firm with offices throughout the Southeast. The Chattanooga office is just one of the Firm’s 14 locations, and each office supports a wide variety of community service and engagement activities.
Caitlin Gallagher, community service chair of M&J’s Chattanooga office, is used to high participation rates and enthusiasm for the firm’s numerous charitable initiatives and volunteer efforts.
“The response and efforts we received from the Chattanooga office were amazing,” Gallagher said. “We are so grateful to be able to give back to our community. This is our second year hosting a food drive, and our office was excited to help brighten up the holidays for those less fortunate.”
The canned goods M&J collected combined with the monetary donations will help provide groceries for over 1,200 meals.
The Chattanooga Area Food Bank aims to provide equitable access to food and resources to end hunger by feeding, nourishing, and empowering those they serve. Their feeding programs provide 14 million pounds of food annually to 161,770 clients who live below the poverty line in Southeast Tennessee and North Georgia.
