Tom Houlihan is a Managing Director at Mauldin & Jenkins where he is responsible for leading the Transaction Advisory Practice. Tom has over 20 years of transaction advisory and valuation practice leadership experience including corporate transactions, business combinations, strategic planning, financial reporting, dispute resolution and legal and regulatory proceedings.

Tom has led and provided support for clients on over $3 billion of transactions across a broad range of industries including traditional utilities, renewable energy, oil & gas, manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, technology, entertainment and hospitality. In addition to his advisory experience, Tom has experience providing expert testimony and litigation support for matters involving commercial damages, business valuations, accounting investigations, and contract disputes. He has worked on numerous high-profile dispute assignments for clients and has provided expert support and testimony in federal & state courts, and for FERC & state regulatory proceedings.

Prior to joining Mauldin & Jenkins, Tom held leadership roles with several global consulting firms including over 14 years with Navigant Capital Advisors, the Corporate Finance and Investment Banking division of Navigant Consulting, where he was the senior member of the management team and leader of the Energy and Industrials segment for the practice. More recently, Tom was a leader in the Valuation and Advisory practice at Alvarez & Marsal prior to founding Sextant Capital Partners.

Tom earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Creighton University and an MBA with an emphasis in finance and accounting from Vanderbilt University. He is a member of the Energy Bar Association and a Candidate Member of the American Society of Appraisers.
