BIRMINGHAM- Employees from Mauldin & Jenkins, a Top 100 accounting and advisory firm, participated in one of United Way of Central Alabama’s work days in Tarrant, Alabama, as part of an office-wide community service project. In honor of United Way of Central Alabama’s 100th anniversary, the organization committed to building community parks in each of the six Alabama counties it serves.
Organized by Kristin Studdard, a Director in the Firm’s Financial Institutions Practice, the project saw strong participation from employees in the Birmingham office, demonstrating the firm’s dedication to giving back to the local communities in which it operates.
Employees worked to help spread gravel in the pavilion area and mulch in the playground before the new park opened to the Jefferson County community in addition to raising $14,000 to contribute to the organization’s campaign.
“Every year, I’m so thankful for the Birmingham employees’ generosity to United Way of Central Alabama,” Kristin shared. “UWCA campaign funds are distributed among more than 100 partner agencies that touch all of our lives at one time or another. From Children’s Hospital and the YMCA to the Crisis Center and Disaster Recovery, UWCA supports all members of the Birmingham community and surrounding areas.”
